New trailer for the screen adaptation of Italian actor Filippo Timi's stage play.
Italian actor Filippo Timi had a hit on stage in his native land with his play Fairytale. Now director Sebastiano Mauri has brought Fairytale to the screen with Timi reprising his role as a disillusioned housewife in 1950s America who retreats into a fantasy world in the confines of her suburban home. Sergio Albelli, Piera Degli Esposti and Lucia Mascino also star.
Fairytale is on US DVD/VOD May 12th, with a UK/ROI release yet to be announced.
Check out the trailer, poster and official synopsis below.
The official synopsis reads:
United States, the 50s. Amongst stuffed poodles, whiskey-infused teas, sinful mambo lessons, and threats of alien invasion, Mrs. Fairytale spends her days locked in her dream home and without a moment to breathe. A surreal world where anyone can finally be who they want to be, but behind which hides another upsetting reality.
