First English language trailer for Winocour's space exploration drama.
The emotional toll of space exploration on astronauts has been explored recently in both the acclaimed Ad Astra and the not so acclaimed Lucy in the Sky.
Director Alice Winocour (Disorder) weighs in on this subject with Proxima, which focusses on Sarah (Eva Green), an astronaut who wrestles with the implications of leaving her young daughter (Zélie Boulant) behind while she embarks on a year long mission in space.
Matt Dillon, Lars Eidinger and Sandra Hüller also star.

Proxima is in UK cinemas April 17th.

The official synopsis reads:
Sarah is a French astronaut training at the European Space Agency in Cologne. She is the only woman in the arduous program. She lives alone with Stella, her eight-year-old daughter. Sarah feels guilty that she cannot spend more time with her child. Her love is overpowering, unsettling. When Sarah is chosen to join the crew of a year-long space mission called Proxima, it creates chaos in the mother-daughter relationship.
