Leone's final western comes to UK blu-ray in November.
Sergio Leone is best known for his Dollars Trilogy and his two Once Upon a Time movies. More overlooked is his 1971 western A Fistful of Dynamite (aka Duck You Sucker). The movie stars Rod Steiger and James Coburn as a Mexican outlaw and an Irish freedom fighter who team up to raise hell, and boasts a score from Leone's regular composer Ennio Morricone.
A Fistful of Dollars will make its UK blu-ray debut on November 25th when Eureka Entertainment release it in a Limited Edition hardbound case with a 60 page collector's booklet.
Bonus features include two cuts of the film; commentaries by filmmaker Alex Cox and film historian Sir. Christopher Frayling; interview with critic Kim Newman; Austin Fisher, author of 'Radical Frontiers in the Spaghetti Western: Politics, Violence and Popular Italian Cinema'; interview with Frayling; and various featurettes.
Check out Eureka's new trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
Starring acting giants Rod Steiger (In the Heat of the Night) as Juan Miranda, an amoral peasant-turned-outlaw, and James Coburn (Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid) as John Mallory, a dynamite-tossing Irish revolutionary who has fled to Mexico after becoming a fugitive in his own country. Together, they're a devilishly volatile mix of anti-establishment philosophies and violent tendencies as they attempt to liberate political prisoners, defend their compatriots against a well-equipped militia, and risk their lives on a train filled with explosives.
