A new character poster continues the charade around a mysterious cast member.
Last week a batch of character posters was released for Luca Guadagnino's remake of Dario Argento's Suspiria. Curiously, one of the main cast members was left out - 'Lutz Ebersdorf', who is billed as playing the prominent role of Professor Klemperer.
The internet has long speculated that Ebersdorf is actually a heavily made up Tilda Swinton, something confirmed by reviews from the film's Venice Film Festival premiere (in fact, Swinton is said to play multiple roles).
The filmmakers appear to be insisting with the charade however, with Swinton reading out a statement purportedly written by Ebersdorf at a Venice press conference and director Guadagnino insisting Ebersdorf is a real life person. There's even a fake imdb page for the 'actor', complete with a bio that features info that can't be corroborated anywhere else online.
The Ebersdorf charade continues in a cheeky new character poster below.
Suspiria is in UK/ROI cinemas November 16th.
The official synopsis reads:
A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
