Sam Raimi's low budget classic returns to UK/ROI cinemas this October.
Sam Raimi launched his career with one of horror's greatest examples of low budget creativity, 1981's The Evil Dead. The film, which follows the exploits of a group of young holidaymakers who unleash hell while staying at a cabin in the woods, made a cult icon of actor Bruce Campbell and spawned two sequels, a remake and a TV show.
Once banned on UK video, The Evil Dead gets a big screen re-release this Halloween in UK/ROI cinemas courtesy of Park Circus. You can find details of participating cinemas here.
Check out the new re-release trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons. Raimi’s seminal horror made a cult icon of Bruce Campbell and turned its director into hot property. Much imitated, but never bettered, The Evil Dead was the birth of an independently-spirited, viscerally- minded new wave in low budget horror cinema.
