Writer/director Barry Jenkins follows up his Oscar winning Moonlight with this adaptation of James Baldwin's novel, If Beale Street Could Talk.
The 1970s set story follows a young Harlem woman (Kiki Layne) and her reaction to the arrest of her artist boyfriend (Stephan James) for a crime he didn't commit.
If Beale Street Could Talk is in UK/ROI cinemas January 18th.

The official synopsis reads:
In early 1970’s Harlem, Tish, a nineteen-year old girl, is in love with a young sculptor, Fonny, the father of her unborn child. When Fonny is falsely accused of rape and imprisoned, Tish and their families race to clear his name before the baby is born.
