Looking back at Breaking Bad
The hugely popular and critically acclaimed TV show Breaking Bad has been named by countless critics as one of the greatest TV shows of all time, and for good reason. With the fifth and final series drawing to a close, it’s time to look back at the genuinely awesome TV show that is Breaking Bad.
Award winning drama
While Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have been nominated and awarded several Emmys throughout the series, the show always seemed to miss out on the coveted Most Outstanding Drama award. This year however saw the show finally recognised for its achievements.
It is as the final part of the fifth season airs across the world that the show finally gains some much deserved recognition for working as one of the best TV shows on television at the moment – and perhaps of all time.
Vince Gilligan seemed overjoyed to accept the award and thanks his cast for making the show such a success. Indeed, many were shocked when leading man Bryan Cranston missed out on the Best Actor award, and Gilligan was sure to thank Cranston for being such an amazing lead.
Perhaps next year will hold more awards for the actors, as the second half of the series will be eligible for nomination at the 2014 awards! Thankfully, Anna Gunn was finally recognised this year and took the award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Skylar White.
Finding your fix
The show might be ending, but it doesn’t mean you’ll be without Breaking Bad for long. AMC and writer Vince Gilligan have officially announced the hugely popular character Saul Goodman will be receiving his own spin-off show, Better Call Saul.
Set as a prequel to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul will follow the life and times of the strip-mall lawyer before he became entangled with Walter White and company, possibly exploring how he became a lawyer of a certain criminal nature.
If you can’t wait for the spin-off though, and repeats of the show just aren’t enough, perhaps you’d like to know what it’s like to run a meth empire yourself…without the legal and moral implications of course.
Luckily, you can do so from the comfort of your own computer, as Roundgames are hosting a game made by fans, for fans, following the various antics of the show's different characters!
