The film stars Benoît Magimel and Juliette Binoche as Dodin and Eugenie, a chef and cook who also happen to be lovers in 19th century France. Hoping to win his lover's hand in marriage, Dodin prepares to cook a special meal for Eugenie.

The Taste of Things is in UK/ROI cinemas (possibly under its French title of The Pot-Au-Feu) from December 29th.

The official synopsis reads:

Set in France in 1889, the film follows the life of Dodin Bouffant (Benoît Magimel) as a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie (Oscar®-winner Juliette Binoche). They share a long history of gastronomy and love but Eugénie refuses to marry Dodin, so the food lover decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.
