One half of the Coen Brothers, writer/director Joel Coen
strikes out on his for The Tragedy of Macbeth, his take on Shakespeare's classic play.
Shot in moody black and white by cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel,
The Tragedy of Macbeth stars Denzel Washington as the
man who would be king of Scotland, with Frances McDormand as Lady
Macbeth.
The film also stars
Corey Hawkins, Moses Ingram, Brendan Gleeson, Harry Melling and
Ralph Ineson.
The Tragedy of Macbeth is on AppleTV+ from January 14th,
2022. A US theatrical release is lined up for December 25th but no
confirmation yet of a UK/ROI cinema release.
