The sci-fi actioner comes to cinemas and home video with a new restoration in November.
Paul Verhoeven's 1990 Philip K. Dick adaptation Total Recall has been given a 4K restoration to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Verhoeven says of the restoration: “I just saw the 4K presentation of my movie and it’s absolutely wonderful what Studiocanal and the restoration team have done. There is so much detail you could say it is three-dimensional. Bravo! I hope many people go and see the movie.”
The restoration has been selected to premiere at the upcoming Deauville American Film Festival (4-13 September 2020) as well as Sitges, International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (8-18 October 2020).
Total Recall will play in UK cinemas in November, with a 4K Ultra HD Collector’s Edition, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and Steelbook from 23rd November.
Bonus features include a new feature documentary Total Excess: How Carolco Changed Hollywood; commentary by Verhoeven and Arnold Schwarzenegger; featurettes on the soundtrack and the development of the film; new trailer; making of doc; and a special effects featurette.
The 5-disc 4K Ultra HD Collector’s Edition includes a double-CD soundtrack; double-sided poster; six artcards; and a 48-page booklet with exclusive essay by Kim Newman.
