First look at the combustible comedy.
Films like Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Falling and The Fits have explored the idea of schoolkids succumbing to mysterious phenomena. The directorial debut of screenwriter Brian Duffield (Underwater, The Babysitter), Spontaneous gives this theme a horror comedy twist.
Katherine Langford and Charlie Plummer play high school students who fall for one another amid an epidemic of spontaneous combustion among their fellow pupils. Yvonne Orji, Hayley Law, Rob Huebel and Piper Perabo also star.
Spontaneous is on US VOD/Digital from October 6th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
When students in their high school begin inexplicably exploding (literally…), seniors Mara (Katherine Langford) and Dylan (Charlie Plummer) struggle to survive in a world where each moment may be their last. As an unexpected romance blossoms between them, Mara and Dylan discover that when tomorrow is no longer promised, they can finally start living for today!
