23 New Movies Coming to UK Home Entertainment Next Week (June 29th)

Here's our guide to the new movies hitting UK Home Entertainment platforms next week (w/c June 29th).


While cinemas shut down during the lockdown, drive-ins across the US stayed open and did stellar business by all accounts. The two biggest hits on American drive-in screens were horror movies The Wretched and The Invisible Man, both of which arrive on UK DVD next week, along with the latest films from world cinema titans Werner Herzog and Pablo Larraín.

Best friends Mia and Mel (Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne) are living their best lives running their own cosmetics company they've built from the ground up. The Public
Emilio Estevez writes, directs and stars in this American drama about a library that becomes a shelter for homeless people who rely on the building as a refuge from the cold. Following several deaths due to a cold snap in Cincinnati a number of homeless people, led by the loquacious Jackson (Michael K. Williams), refuse to leave the library when it is closing time. Librarian Stuart Goodson (Estevez) sympathises with their plight and agrees to let them spend the night there even though his colleague, Myra (Jena Malone), is against the idea. Once the authorities become aware of the situation a stand-off ensues with police negotiator Bill Ramstead (Alec Baldwin) attempting to remove the homeless people from the building in a peaceful manner.

Street Survivors tells the story through one of the survivors, drummer Artimus Pyle, who not only survived the fatal crash (that claimed the life of the band’s founder and front man Ronnie Van Zant amongst others), but who also bravely pulled the remaining survivors out of the plane wreckage before staggering towards the nearest farmhouse in rural Louisiana to seek help.
