Bong Joon-ho's Oscar winning Parasite became the most successful foreign language release at the UK box office recently, so it seems there's a new-found thirst for Korean genre cinema.

Thanks to the Corona virus crisis, you're not going to find any Korean thrillers in movie theatres any time soon, but your thirst may be quenched by the Digital HD release of director Lee Jung-Ho's thriller The Beast.

The film stars Lee Sung-min and Yoo Jae-myung as a pair of rival cops who must put their animosity aside to investigate the murder of a girl.

The score comes courtesy of acclaimed composer Mowg, whose work can be heard in such Korean hits as I Saw the Devil and Burning.

The Beast is on UK Digital HD April 6th.

Check out the trailer below.

The official synopsis reads:

After the mutilated body of a missing girl is discovered in tidelands, Korea is shaken. Han-soo (Lee Sung-min: The Spy Gone North) and Min-tae (Yoo Jae- myung: Stranger) - who have been rivals for years - are put in charge of finding the culprit. The case seems simple with a suspect already in custody, but things take a turn when Han-su meets an informant who insists that he knows who the real murderer is. As cover-ups and secret deals ensue, tensions rise between the two detectives and the mounting pressure comes to a head.
