A pair of new videos highlight the production of the WWI drama.

Director Sam Mendes' WWI drama 1917 is expected to scoop multiple awards at this Sunday's BAFTA ceremony and next month's Oscars. Mendes and cinematographer Roger Deakins are hotly tipped to be awarded for their work on the film, which is created to give the appearance of playing out in two extended and unbroken shots.

A pair of new featurettes have been released to highlight the feats of pulling off the unbroken take illusion and the unique lighting methods of Deakins. Check them out below.

1917 is currently in UK/ROI cinemas.

The official synopsis reads:

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers— Blake’s own brother among them.
