Parker's 1987 thriller has been newly restored.
Approved by the director himself, Alan Parker's 1987 supernatural thriller Angel Heart has been restored in 4K and will be released in a new edition on DVD, blu-ray and 4K UHD on October 14th, courtesy of Studiocanal.
The adaptation of William Hjortsberg's novel 'Falling Angel' stars Mickey Rourke as a private detective hired by Robert De Niro's mysterious Louis Cyphre for a missing persons case that takes on supernatural connotations.
Special features will include a commentary, introduction and interview with Parker; a documentary on the voodoo religion; vintage interviews and behind the scenes footage; trail, gallery; and a 48 page booklet written by Parker.

The official synopsis reads:
ANGEL HEART follows private investigator Harry Angel (Rourke) who is hired by Louis Cyphre (De Niro) to track down a singer named Johnny Favorite. The investigation soon takes an unexpected and sombre turn as Angel uncovers the fate and identity of Favorite, with horrifying consequences for all involved. From the mean streets of New York to the backwoods of New Orleans, Harry finds himself being dragged into a world of sex, murder, voodoo and death. This is no ordinary case, and Harry is no ordinary detective.
