We can't confess to being fans of Eli Roth's work as a director, but anyone who has seen his contributions to many DVD extras knows he boasts an infectious enthusiasm for genre cinema, of which he boasts an encyclopedic knowledge. Put simply, we'd much rather watch Roth talk about horror movies than watch one of his own movies.

With that in mind, we're excited for Eli Roth's History of Horror, a six-part series in which Roth discusses the history of the genre with a host of filmmakers and celebrity horror fans.

In the clip below, Stephen King, Joe Dante, Linda Blair and more discuss the films that scared them most as children.

Eli Roth's History of Horror debuts on AMC on BT in the UK on November 14th.

The official synopsis reads:

Featuring A-list storytellers like Stephen King, Quentin Tarantino, Jordan Peele, Jason Blum, Robert Englund, Linda Blair, Tippi Hedren, Rob Zombie, Haley Joel Osment, Jack Black, John Landis, Jamie Lee Curtis and more, Eli Roth’s History of Horror brings together the masters of horror - icons and stars who define the genre - to explore its biggest themes and reveal the inspirations and struggles behind its past and present. Each one-hour episode will take viewers on a chilling exploration of how horror has evolved through the eras and impacted society, as well as why loyal fans remain addicted to fear.
