Having directed the Oscar nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown, Belgium's Felix Van Groeningen is no stranger to familial estrangement, a subject he returns to in his English language debut, Beautiful Boy.
Based on the memoirs of David Sheff (Played here by Steve Carell) and his son Nic (Timothée Chalomet), Beautiful Boy chronicles the latter's struggle with drug addiction and his father's attempts to help his son. Maura Tierney, Amy Ryan, Kaitlyn Dever and Timothy Hutton also star.
Beautiful Boy doesn't hit UK cinemas until January 18th, 2019, but you can check out the first trailer below.
