Mark Wahlberg Stars In First Trailer For Peter Berg's MILE 22

First look at Berg's latest slice of gung-ho action cinema.

While his politics may be hard to swallow for some, there's no denying Peter Berg has matured into one of the best directors of action working today, as evidenced by the thrilling set-pieces of last year's Patriots Day.

Berg reunites with Mark Wahlberg for Mile 22, which sounds a lot like it's drawing inspiration from films like The Gauntlet and 16 Blocks. Wahlberg plays a CIA agent charged with sneaking a man with valuable information out of a hostile foreign nation. Don't expect subtlety or political nuance from this one.

The film also stars Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, Ronda Rousey and John Malkovich, and you can check out the trailer below.

Mile 22 is in UK/ROI cinemas August 10th.

The official synopsis reads:

In a visceral modern thriller from the director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in.
