The Bhutanese drama releases a trailer after an award-winning festival run.
After collecting awards at the Laughlin International Film Festival, the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and the National Bhutan Film Festival, director Karma Deki's romantic drama Kushuthara is set for a Spring release on VOD and a limited theatrical run in the US. The movie stars Emrhys Cooper (of TV's Person of Interest), as a western journalist who falls for a Bhutanese girl (Kezang Wangmo).
The official synopsis reads:
One single thread, as if lost in the woven cloth, weaves together the story of the past and present lives of two people. Two people, each born on opposite sides of the world, become destined to meet and experience their individual karma and share in its consequences.
