Shang-Chi debuted as a character in Marvel comics back in 1973, and was
destined to hit the screen in the 1980s with Brandon Lee in the lead role.
Like many comic book projects of that era, it never took off, but with
superhero movies now the dominant force and China currently leading the
world in box-office takings, what better time for a Shang-Chi movie?
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars
Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, a kung-fu master who has left his old life
behind and is living in San Francisco when he finds himself forced to
embrace his skills to defeat terrorist organisation The Ten Rings. The
film also stars Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Fala Chen, Meng'er Zhang, Florian Munteanu,
        Ronny Chieng
      and Michelle Yeoh.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in UK/ROI
      cinemas from September 3rd.
