Summer 2013 Animation Preview

In a summer exploding with sequels, reboots and potential franchise starters, one couldn’t be blamed for forgetting the animated films being released in the coming months.  'Man of Steel', 'The Lone Ranger', and 'Pacific Rim' are just a few of the many summer hopefuls that are appearing on many want-to-see lists.  Even so, one shouldn’t overlook the animation field, which is constantly expanding, and this summer is no exception.  Here are the 5 biggest animated films of this summer.

New Release Review - Wreck-It Ralph

Starring: John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, Alan Tudyk

While there are many who would argue differently, 2012 has been a relatively good year for animation.  With "Brave", "Pirates! Band of Misfits" and "Frankenweenie" (among others), there's been plenty of appealing films for all ages.  And while "Wreck-It Ralph" looked somewhat less promising than the others in my eyes, it ended up being an absolute joy and one of the best of 2012.

New Release Review - Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

Starring: Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, Betty White

Another Dr. Seuss adaption. I say this without enthusiasm or disappointment. Dr. Seuss films are usually just mediocre, nothing to get excited over. However, they make a lot of money. Thus, we get the movie adaption of "The Lorax."
