Luis Buñuel's acclaimed class satire The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie celebrates its 50th
anniversary this year with a new 4K restoration.
The film stars Fernando Rey, Paul Frankeur, Delphine Seyrig, Bulle Ogier, Stéphane
Audran
and Jean-Pierre Cassel in a surreal tale of a group of wealthy
friends whose attempt at a dinner party is thwarted by absurd
interruptions.
The new restoration will play in select UK cinemas in June with a home
release on 4K UHD, blu-ray, DVD and VOD on June 20th. Bonus features
include critical analyses of the film by critic Charles Tesson and Professor Peter W. Evans; an interview with writer Jean-Claude Carrière; and new and original trailers.

The official synopsis reads:
Buñuel’s humorous satire depicts a group of friends – the Thévenots, the Sénéchals, Madame Thévenot’s younger sister Florence and Latin American ambassador Don Rafael Acosta – make repeated attempts to dine together, but are constantly frustrated by bizarre interruptions, including a series of dreams.
