Branagh's drama is in UK/ROI cinemas this November.

Kenneth Branagh has adapted William Shakespeare and Agatha Christie but now he turns to his own childhood for inspiration.

Belfast sees the writer/director turn his attention to his home city to tell the story of Buddy (Jude Hill), a young boy coming of age in the turbulent late 1960s. Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe play the boy's parents with Judi Dench and Ciaran Hinds as his grandparents.

Belfast is in UK/ROI cinemas from November 12th.

The official synopsis reads:

From lauded director Kenneth Branagh, and starring an acclaimed ensemble cast, Belfast is a personal and joyful story about the power of memory, set in late 1960s Northern Ireland. At the center of the film is Buddy, a young boy on the cusp of adolescence, whose life is filled with familial love, childhood hijinks, and a blossoming romance. Yet, with his beloved hometown caught up in increasing turmoil, his family faces a momentous choice: hope the conflict will pass or leave everything they know behind for a new life.
