The monster movie comes to UK blu in August.

Part of the wave of "eco-horror" movies of the late 1970s, John Frankenheimer's Prophecy was a critical flop on its release back in 1979 but has developed a cult audience in the decades since.

The film stars Robert Foxworth and Talia Shire as a doctor and his wife who investigate a series of unexplained deaths in rural Maine, uncovering a conspiracy to silence a man-made environmental catastrophe.

Prophecy makes its UK blu-ray debut on August 16th when it will be released courtesy of Eureka Entertainment.

Bonus features include a new feature length audio commentary by Richard Harland Smith; a new feature length audio commentary by film writers Lee Gambin and Emma Westwood; new interviews with screenwriter David Seltzer and mime artist Tom McLoughlin; original trailer.

The first print run of 2000 copies come with a limited edition slipcase and collector's booklet featuring new writing by Craig Ian Mann.

Check out Eureka's new trailer and artwork below.

The official synopsis reads:

Robert Foxworth and Talia Shire star as a doctor and his wife who travel to Maine to research the impact of the lumber industry on the local environment. They begin to investigate a succession of mysterious and terrifying events: ecological freaks of nature and a series of bizarre and grisly human deaths. Something unimaginably horrible waits in the woods. Something unwittingly created by man, that will become an uncontrollable, merciless machine of destruction.
