Known for their distinctive work in the field of advertising and music promos, directors Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz make their narrative feature debut with Antebellum. The film stars Janelle Monáe as a modern day author who finds herself transported to what appears to be a slave plantation in the Antebellum South. Marque Richardson II, Eric Lange, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, Gabourey Sidibe, Rob Aramayo, Lily Cowles and Jena Malone also star.
Antebellum is in US cinemas August 21st. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
